Women Celebrate Found Poetry – 2020

We are the light of the world…we are a city on a hill.

Be the light!   Let it shine!

It’s all about that grace.

Your love defends me.

If you got chains, He’s a chain breaker.

Jesus Christ, my living hope.

The grave has no claim on me.

You’re intimidating…can you do me a favor? Stop it!

Kids are often afraid of the dark.

We don’t belong to the darkness. It is not truly our home.

You are the light of the world. Our identity. What you are called to be.

Jesus says you are, so we take that as a given.

What does that mean?     We need to BE the light.

Beef jerky, cheddar cheese, and a sixer of Hamms!

Year of the animal print.

Elkhart Lake pound is like the south side of Chicago—bad news!

If you’re not athletic, I suggest you cover your face, cuz there’s gonna be things flyin’.

Share and be aware.

Be the light that Matthews talkin’ about, not Mr. Miller.

You Peg, yup, you are the light of the world.

Turn it on…

Make it brighter…

Share your light…

I am 100….Jesus keeps me here for a purpose.

I think it’s zippers.

I never think of being old.

Get over yourself…next time, I’m bringing gold fish.

Imperfect authenticity.

You don’t need to do His work looking like a million bucks.

God always gives me a stain.

To be the light of the world, we have to be willing to not only embrace our brokenness, but not hide it away.

Perfectionism…it’s the ultimate way of playing God.

When I say no, there’s a yes behind that. Yes to God, no to the world.

We are naturally relational.

Tsumommy did her thing!

It is really hard, but God gives me the graces to get through it.

I keep showing up and God keeps showing up.

He wants you, your heart, and your love.

All of you are exactly enough just the way you are.

Accept yourself the way God designed you.

Perfect love casts out all fear.

He wants you to need Him.

He invites you.

Stop apologizing for who you are.

Stop comparing yourself to others.

The green grass of paradise is where we all want to be

There’s no such thing as one size fits all holiness.

You are a prized child of God.

Go sisters, and be that light.

Goo goo? Hey goo goo!

I can sing I am free, yet not I, but through Christ in me.

But do you know that all the dark won’t stop the light from getting through – we do!

Is He worthy, is He worthy, is He worthy of this? – He is!

Cow manure – this is so good!

We can see beauty and light in the darkest places of our lives.

I am single for the Lord.

Who am I?  Who is Jesus?  God wants to have a relationship with us.

He does not will us to suffer.

I wanted faith on my own terms.

I went on this retreat. Something happened there.

How can I make a sincere gift of my life?

Maybe it’s just enough to sit with him.

This man was my brother, even though we were so different.

I wasn’t there to give, I was there to be.

We have forgotten that we belong to one another.

There’s no lock, there’s no stove, there’s no furniture. Welcome to my home, you are welcome here.

How are you this strong?

Faith is more than emotion.

He wants your heart, and He has something He wants to give to you.

Prayer is the source of the most intimate part of our lives.

Keep your roots deep in your relationship with Jesus.

Love in action is a harsh and dreadful thing compared to love in dreams.

Jesus is a gentle pursuer of your heart.

There’s soldiers and there’s snugglers.

Spider monkey hug.  Achilleas toe spoon.

Why do noses run and feet smell?   When Jesus sneezed, what did they say to Him? You got this?

We know what light is and what it does. How do you describe it?

Light helps us to see. It shows us where we’re supposed to go.

The world is getting darker.

Suicide, anxiety, depression, alcohol abuse, opioid abuse, abortion.

Please come to confession, come to the Lord.

This gives me hope.

There’s a battle out there – bring it on!

There is no victory without a battle.

God needs us to be the light now more than ever.

How do we be the light?

  1. Share our stories. We’re supposed to talk about Jesus.
  2. Be joyful. Joy is the air Christians breathe. Joy is attractive—it’s gotta be the Lord.
  3. Invite other people into it. Do you want to come along?

Missionary disciples on the way.

We are called to be the light that people don’t see.

In prayer, this is where saints are made –in the quiet.   All of us can pray.

Ask the master of the harvest to send out workers.

She shared Jesus with others. She’s a good mother—stay close to her.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace…

Jesus loves me this I know.

There were three at the time that were available.

Just move, Amy. I knew everything would be okay.

God’s ways are not my ways.

His life mattered. I learned so much from Adam. His light shown through his beautiful eyes.

Life is so fragile. My transformation continued.

Be still and know that I am God.

I heard the voice of God calling me as I walked into the water.

Come home…come home to me.

I’m no longer lost. I’m that thriving daughter of Christ.

I truly believe in the healing power of confession.

Empty chairs at empty tables…

Jesus healed me – He can heal each one of you.

Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal.

Holy Spirit you are welcome here.

Your glory God is what our hearts long for.

You’re our living hope.

Lord, I need you, oh I need you.

And where you are Lord, I am free. Holiness is Christ in me.

Prayer, just like salt, needs to truly affect how you live your life.

I see a bunch of carriers…you are the carriers of the light of Christ…you’re full of it!

Do we really believe that?

The garden was given to us.

What do I let God take care of?

There isn’t a family that isn’t dysfunctional.

The reality of lived life is painful. To protect ourselves, we cover our hearts up.

Can God love you?   God does!  Not because we know we are good, but because God is so good!

That’s my loving God.

Move from your head to your heart because that’s where the fullness of God’s love is.

I saw the light, I felt the light, I was able to embrace it.

You are the light of the world.
