Our own Mary Pribbenow listens with a thoughtful ear throughout the weekend to capture ‘golden nuggets’ muttered by our stage guests. She compiles them into a ‘poem’ for us all to reflect on Sunday morning. Here is Mary’s 2017 Found Poetry.

Women Celebrate Found Poetry 2017

Open up the heavens, we want to see you

What does your journey look like?

Travelin’ Annie

Another pointless team video

As morning breaks, I look to you Lord, to be my strength this day

This Jesus is going to draw near this weekend

He approached them

I’m spooning with God

Jesus is gonna hold you, love you, heal you, cradle you, inspire you…Jesus is gonna find you.

Seeing is not believing…believing is seeing.

In priest years, I’m 85.

You’re worthy, worth it, God’s children, you are incredible.

Trust your hearts

On my bed I remember you; on you I muse through the night for you have been my help. Your right hand holds me fast and I will praise you.

Oh there you are! I love you, I love you, I love you!

You don’t have to know it all.

This has nothing to do with me and everything to do with Him

I always believed in God, but I didn’t always know Him

I want one of those lanterns. If you love me, they’ll call my name.

I am a child of God.

I need to live up to what God sees in me.

I loved you at your darkest.

I’m proud of myself and I know God is too.

I’m famous in my Father’s eyes. He knows my name.

Everywhere I go, on this road, high and low, where I go…I go with you.

All your life, the echo in your heart is the Lord calling you.

We are journeying home. We are in a state of longing.

It takes a lot to be who you are.

Women have a need to have a voice.

We are life-long learners. You’re not done.

When you love, it bubbles over.   We are called to be witnesses.

He was alive 300 years ago, and He is alive today.

Perhaps God didn’t want them to see who He was

It’s always bigger, and better and harder than we expect.

He is the Lord of the commonplace and He meets us in the common places.

We will leave here different women than when we came.

One eyebrow, seven inch neck, built like a bulldog.

G and O Guilt and Obligation

A tender heart and a ready shoulder

When the two disciples recognized Jesus, He vanished from their sight.

The Lord Jesus lives in them

We meet Him in His mysteries; in His sacraments.

Do you know Jesus Christ? Do you know that He walks with you and talks with you?

If I had a hammer

Bless the Lord oh my soul

Holiness is Christ in me

Jesus, be the center, be the source, be my hope

She fell in love with a prison inmate

A bitterness that stays in your heart until you choose to release it.

How do you release it?

Stop!!! Go give her money.

We’re here to love each other and lift each other.

Kindness would be contagious.

I am not a good bible study girl.

You are a child of God and then she said, God has big plans for your life.

He wants to use you. He longs to use you.

God make me a vessel for you.   God, what is a vessel?

I want to write about kindness.

A massive transformation happened.

God help me to see her the way you see her.

Let the one of us who doesn’t have a could a, should a, would a, throw the first stone.

He still has His eyes on you.

And then I got breast cancer.

Kindness as chemotherapy. Every time, it re-routed my day.

Kindness isn’t about them, it’s about you.

A kind man benefits himself.

Pain and joy always exist simultaneously.

Combination of the pain and joy together makes us strong.

Kindness is your avenue out of the pain.

Do you know Jesus? Do you really know Jesus?

Wherever you go, He’s before you, He’s behind you, He’s inside you

He always intended for Jesus to be with us.

If you don’t see the result of your kindness…know that it matters.

I was learning to trust Him with baby steps.

I lost the baby—these were difficult days.

How do you plan a funeral for your hopes?

If you have loved, you risk being hurt.

God is sitting right next to you.

Be in a relationship with Him.

It was time to realize the blessings that came from the sorrow.

I learned I had choices.

You can choose to pray each day.

What was gonna happen to me now?

A double rainbow appeared and I know my prayers were answered.

Be silent, listen, and feel His love.

Ask for forgiveness; give forgiveness

Go to God and be healed.

Keep God in the center of your life. Trust in His love.

Ann, Ann Kard-ash-i-an!!!

We don’t travel our road alone.

We are not here to create private purity.

Holiness is not the pictures on the wall with the halo. None of them did it by themselves.

The women along the way: your mother, the nuns who taught me, your best friend, the rock,
the shared history, the prayer group, the demographic gang, the formater, the opposite, the intellectual,
spiritual warrior, soul sister, the cheerleader, the neighbor, the caregiver.

Holiness is real and specific. The blessed mother is the moon that reflects the light of the son.

Soul friends. Sacrament of a new heart.

God is with us all the time.

The great journey into seeing

Lay down your burdens, lay down your shame

Lay down your hurt, lay down your heart, come as you are.

Christ in me arise and dispel all the darkness; pour out your blessing and your healing. Christ in me arise and I shall rise with you.

Lord I see you. Help me find you.

Come and fall afresh on me.

Your presence Lord. Holy Spirit you are welcome here.

It wasn’t supposed to end that way, now what?

He comes to us and journeys with us. We are never, ever alone.

God’s final word, in Jesus, is life.

Broken and shared that we might live.

He is alive, He is alive, He is alive!!!

It is well, it is well with my soul.
